Anna, married Joe Venhaus, lived and farmed 2 miles of Lawrence until
influenza took both their lives in December 1918, leaving 3 small
children. Gilbert, Vince, and Norma made their home with grandparents,
Ben and Sophia Kohmetscher. Today, Gilbert lives in Louisiana. Vince
made a career in the army as a cook through World War II and the
Korean War. He and his wife are retired in Abilene, Texas. Norma
married Dr. Joe Higgins, then moved to Oxnard, California where they
raised their family of 7 children. (Lawrence, Nebraska 1884 - 1984)
